  • Minced Meat 500 g
  • Potatoes 1 kg
  • Diced Onions 2 med
  • Tomatoes 2 med
  • Yogurt 400 g
  • Eggs 2 med
  • Cheddar 100 g
  • Flour 5 tbs
  • Vegetable Oil 5 tbs
  • Paprika 1 tsp
  • Black Pepper 1 tsp
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Hot Water 200 ml
Step 1

Heat the oil in a large pan and saute the diced onions until they get soft and translucent. Dice the tomatoes and add half of them to the onions together with the black pepper, salt, and the minced meat. For the meat, you may use, lamb or a mix of 50/50 pork and veal.

Step 2

Leave it to simmer for a bit and stir occasionally. Once the moisture from the tomatoes is mostly gone, add the paprika. Peel and dice the potatoes and add to the pan and continue cooking. Cook for 2-3 minutes more in the pan.

Step 3

Take a baking dish and oil the bottom and put the leftover tomatoes inside. Transfer the meat and potato mixture in the pan and add the 200 ml hot water. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 Degrees Celsius until potatoes are soft and fully cooked.

Step 4

To get the creamy sauce on top, you need to mix the yogurt and eggs and then slowly incorporate the flour until well combined. Then add cheddar and spread on top of the meat potato mixture and bake until the top becomes golden brown.
