Ground Beef Chow Mein

- Ready to use noodles 150 hfl
- Onion 1 oz
- Carrot 1 hfl
- Courgettes 1 sm
- Mushroom 3 med
- Sesame oil 2 tbs
- Chicken stock 70 ml
- Soy sauce 2 tbs
- Garlic 2 clv
- Sesame seeds 1 tsp
- Hoisin sauce 1 tbs
- Curry powder 1 tbs
- Salt 1 pin
Finely chop the onion and the garlic.
Grate the carrots and courgettes. Thinly slice the mushrooms.
Take a large wok add in the 2 tbs of sesame oil along with the onion, garlic, and ground beef. Brown the beef on medium heat for about 4-5 minutes. Using the wooden spoon break up the ground beef as much as possible.
Once the meat has browned add in 1 tbs of curry powder and cook for an additional 1 minute to get the fragrant flavour of the curry.
Next, add in the veggies and cook for an additional 6-7 minutes. Add in some salt for seasoning as well as the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and chicken stock.
Once the veggies are soft and cooked add in the noodles, give it a good stir and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes to heat through. Serve it with sesame seeds and fresh coriander leaves.
